'Spectacular Hats' Castle Howard
Friday the 9th of May was a big day for Millinery in North Yorkshire! Sharon Bainbridge and Jill Hopkins organised an incredible charity event where 12 milliners from across the country showcased their work. We were lucky enough to have the beautiful backdrop of Castle Howard for our collections and it all felt very glamorous! It was lovely to catch up with some of the milliners I already know and to meet some new people. The only down side was it seemed to be over so quickly and we were so busy I didn’t get to chat to all of the milliners. The images below are courtesy of Jim Varney who photographed the event, which was very much appreciated. Lana also did a brilliant job of modelling my hat’s and looking gorgeous! Thank you to Sharon and Jill who worked so hard to get this event of the ground and sold over 150 tickets, raising over £4000 for various local charities. Sharon, my tutor at Leeds college of art, is a great promoter of millinery and I really appreciate being asked to take part in this event. Sharon’s encouragement and support while I was at college was immeasurable and as you can see from my previous post I have finally launched my website today – I don’t think I could have got to this point without that support!
Wonderful pictures from Jim, what a great event supported by the wonderful milliners, you look fabulous Marisa, well done and good luck with the web site.
Fantastic! Great website Marisa – it shows your creative designs very well. They deserve to sell widely and be worn with pride! Congratulations.
